Bestival was cancelled for 2019 on the 6th March following confirmation from Dorset Police that the festival would not be taking place.
It has been confirmed by festival organisers that Bestival will be cancelled in 2019 (and for the foreseeable future) due to financial issues. Both Dorset Police and many artists are still owed money from the festival last year. It is reported that London Grammar, who headlined in 2018, was owed £175,000, singer Plan B is owed £105,000 and Rudimental was also owed £24,500.
In addition to this, the death of Louella Fletcher-Mitchie in 2017 and the conviction of boyfriend Ceon Broughton later this month has spread bad publicity and claims of security and welfare issues at the festival.
Bestivals partner festival Camp Bestival will continue and have announced headliners Jess Glynne and The Human League for the family festival heading to Lulworth Castle this July.
